H2APEX Group SCA, a Luxembourg-based developer and operator of green hydrogen facilities, has raised its revenue outlook for the full year after its revised strategy to scale up in-house hydrogen production began delivering results earlier than anticipated, reported Renewables Now.
The company now expects to generate between EUR 9 million and EUR 10 million in revenue in 2025, a significant increase from its earlier forecast of EUR 6 million to EUR 8 million.
This upward revision is largely driven by progress on a hydrogen project in Lubmin, Germany, developed in partnership with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). H2APEX contributed initial development work for the venture, which will start with a 100-MW capacity in its first phase and is planned to exceed 1 GW as it expands over time.
H2APEX also intends to roll out a series of smaller hydrogen production projects going forward.
Looking to the medium and long term, the company anticipates that most of its revenue will eventually come from the operation of its own hydrogen plants. Additional income streams are expected through service offerings for external clients and joint ventures, including project development and the operation and maintenance of hydrogen facilities. The firm is also developing proprietary hydrogen storage solutions to support transport and logistics.
“We view the upgraded revenue forecast as an early indication that our decision to prioritise the expansion of our own hydrogen production capacities—along with external services—was the right one,” CEO Peter Roessner said. He added that the company plans to further grow its activities in energy and asset management, storage and transport technology, as well as operations and maintenance. “Overall, the positive revenue trend reinforces our confidence in the strategic course we’ve set,” Roessner noted.
