Green hydrogen project in Japan: Manies and Hoku Energy sign MoU

Hoku Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Manies Group to collaborate on a green hydrogen project in Japan and as well as and green ammonia. Manies, a leading investment firm focused on next-generation technologies such as AI and infrastructure, is committed to supporting the transition to decarbonization as part of its medium-term goals, according to the press release.

Hoku Energy, which operates across the green hydrogen and ammonia value chains in Asia, aims to provide carbon-free energy solutions to industrial players with targets for carbon neutrality by 2030 and beyond.

Through this partnership, Hoku Energy K.K., the operational arm of Hoku Energy Group, is working with Manies and local communities to develop a pipeline of projects in Western Japan. Both parties plan to assess and advance these green ammonia and hydrogen initiatives, with plans to proceed to feasibility and front-end engineering design (FEED) studies in the near future.
