Lowa farmers to receive biodiesel rebates as harvest season ramps up

As the harvest season gets underway, farmers face numerous challenges in keeping their operations running smoothly. With a flurry of trucks, tractors, and combines on the move, one essential resource ties everything together: fuel. Diesel is in high demand as farms gear up for harvest, and given the rising costs of inputs compared to commodity prices, any relief would be welcome.

To alleviate some of this financial pressure and encourage the use of biodiesel blends, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) has teamed up with the Iowa Soybean Association, Western Iowa Energy, Western Dubuque Biodiesel, and Chevron Renewable Energy Group to introduce a rebate program for farmers utilizing biodiesel blends. Lisa Coffelt, Marketing Director for the IRFA, shared insights about this initiative.
