Suzuki partners with NDDB to invest in biogas projects in India

Suzuki Motor Corporation has entered into an investment agreement with NDDB Mrida Limited, a subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), to support biogas initiatives in India, according to the press release. The partnership was formalized at a signing ceremony held today at NDDB’s headquarters in Anand, Gujarat, attended by NDDB’s Executive Director S. Rajeev, Suzuki President Toshihiro Suzuki, and key players from India’s dairy industry.

As part of its commitment to India’s carbon neutrality goals, Suzuki plans to collaborate with NDDB and local dairy industry associations to establish biogas plants using cow dung. The initiative is aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and agricultural development in the country.

NDDB Mrida, founded in July 2022, focuses on environmental conservation and agricultural progress. Suzuki intends to expand its biogas business by working with dairy cooperatives across India through Mrida, with a focus on using cow dung for energy generation.
