SAF One and Airbus join forces to drive sustainable aviation fuel adoption

SAF One Energy Management Limited, a leading developer of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Airbus through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of sustainable aviation fuel across the global aviation sector, supporting the industry’s decarbonization objectives, according to the press release.

The partnership will focus on driving SAF utilization in the UAE and beyond, leveraging joint advocacy efforts to promote the benefits and adoption of SAF. By working together, SAF One and Airbus aim to address the aviation industry’s pressing need for sustainable fuel alternatives.

Mounir Kuzbari, Director and Co-Founder of SAF One, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to partner with Airbus to further the adoption of sustainable aviation fuel. This partnership will enable us to engage with airlines more effectively, encouraging the use of SAF produced by SAF One’s facilities. By combining our networks and expertise, we can better meet the rising demand for SAF and support the industry’s transition to greener practices.”

Alexandros Kosmas, Head of International Cooperation for the Middle East & Africa at Airbus, highlighted the importance of such collaborations, saying, “Our partnership with SAF One aligns with Airbus’s commitment to scaling SAF production and meeting industry demand. Strengthening the SAF ecosystem requires collective efforts, and this collaboration is a crucial step toward increasing production and availability of sustainable fuels.”

The UAE, as a global aviation hub, is uniquely positioned to lead in SAF production and adoption. With its strategic geographic location, advanced infrastructure, and thriving aviation sector, the region has the potential to become a key player in the global SAF market. By fostering local production and enhancing supply chains, the UAE can significantly contribute to meeting the growing demand for sustainable aviation solutions and driving the transition to eco-friendly air travel.

This partnership marks a significant step forward in the aviation industry’s journey toward sustainability, emphasizing the critical role of collaboration in achieving decarbonization goals.
