TotalEnergies, a prominent player in sustainable fuels, has become a member of the Asia Sustainable Fuel Association (ASAFA). This strategic move underscores LanzaJet’s commitment to enhancing the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and advancing the global SAF supply chain, which is crucial for achieving the aviation industry’s net-zero targets.
LanzaJet has been a pioneer in SAF technology, notably developing alcohol-to-jet (ATJ) technology that converts ethanol into low-carbon aviation fuels. With the launch of its first commercial SAF plant, Freedom Pines Fuels, in 2024, LanzaJet is driving the shift to sustainable aviation by increasing SAF production capacity and collaborating with key industry partners to expedite its adoption.
Through its membership in ASAFA, LanzaJet contributes its extensive knowledge in SAF production, technology commercialization, and global deployment strategies. This partnership is a major step in enhancing the SAF ecosystem in Asia, fostering cross-industry collaboration, and addressing critical issues such as feedstock availability, policy alignment, and infrastructure readiness.
