KIS Group, along with PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia and PT Gagas Energi Indonesia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of Bio-Compressed Natural Gas (BioCNG) from animal manure in Indonesia.
The collaboration marks a step towards expanding renewable energy utilisation and converting organic waste into a source of clean energy.
Representing KIS Group, its General Manager in Indonesia, Sreejith Ambady, signed the MoU as part of the strategic collaboration with the two Indonesian companies.
The proposed initiative will focus on the development of BioCNG produced from animal manure, creating an opportunity to convert organic waste into a renewable energy resource.
KIS Group said the collaboration aims to increase the share of renewable energy and support Indonesia’s journey towards Net Zero Emissions, while also transforming organic waste into a valuable source of clean energy.
The company highlighted several expected sustainability benefits from the collaboration, including a cleaner environment, stronger energy security and reduced pollution.
The initiative also reflects the broader potential of organic waste-to-energy solutions in supporting sustainable energy development. By converting animal manure into BioCNG, such projects can help utilise waste resources while contributing to cleaner energy generation.
KIS Group congratulated the teams involved in the collaboration and described the MoU as a meaningful step towards building a greener and more sustainable future. The company’s announcement did not disclose the proposed project capacity, investment value or commissioning timeline.
