Ravindra Chauhan joins POWERCON Group as business development SMO

POWERCON Group has appointed Ravindra Chauhan as Senior Management Officer – Business Development, strengthening its leadership team as the renewable energy services company expands its business development activities and wind project execution in India.

POWERCON Group has appointed Ravindra Chauhan as Senior Management Officer – Business Development, strengthening its leadership team as the renewable energy services company expands its business development activities and wind project execution in India.

Chauhan brings 22 years of experience across wind energy and engineering, with a background spanning business development, strategic customer engagement, engineering services, and operations and maintenance. He has previously held senior positions at Suzlon, Senvion and InoxWind.

Chauhan to lead business development initiatives

In his new role, Chauhan will work with POWERCON’s leadership team to strengthen customer relationships, identify new business opportunities and expand the company’s market presence.

His experience covers several parts of the wind-energy value chain, including commercial development, engineering services and asset operations. The appointment gives POWERCON additional senior-level experience as renewable energy companies increasingly focus on project execution and long-term asset performance alongside capacity growth.

Chauhan said he was pleased to join POWERCON and would look to apply his experience to deliver greater value to renewable energy asset owners.

Manoj Sonawane, Chief Growth and Resolution Officer at POWERCON Group, welcomed the appointment, highlighting Chauhan’s experience and understanding of the renewable energy sector.

POWERCON expands wind project execution

The appointment comes as POWERCON works on full turnkey wind projects in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

According to the company information reported by Energetica India, POWERCON is taking end-to-end responsibility for these projects, covering activities from concept and feasibility through design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

POWERCON describes itself as a renewable energy asset creation and management company, with activities spanning wind and solar assets as well as project construction and operations management. Its publicly available company profile says its domestic portfolio includes renewable-energy asset operations, construction and development across multiple Indian states.

Experience across India’s wind energy sector

Chauhan’s previous roles at Suzlon, Senvion and InoxWind have given him experience across different phases of India’s wind-energy market.

His appointment comes at a time when renewable energy businesses are broadening their focus from project development alone towards integrated services covering construction, operations, maintenance and asset optimisation.

For companies operating in this segment, business development leadership can play a role in connecting project capabilities with asset owners and identifying opportunities across the renewable energy value chain.

Focus on renewable energy growth

POWERCON’s current turnkey wind activities cover the complete project lifecycle from early-stage feasibility through commissioning. Chauhan’s new business development mandate is expected to support customer engagement and opportunity identification as the company develops its market presence.

No specific new project, capacity target or commercial agreement was announced alongside the appointment. The next phase of Chauhan’s role will therefore centre on supporting POWERCON’s existing business development function and broader renewable-energy activities.

Bioenergy Business Analysis

Although the appointment is primarily linked to wind energy rather than bioenergy, it reflects a broader trend across India’s renewable energy industry: companies are increasingly building integrated capabilities around project development, construction and long-term asset management.

For POWERCON, Chauhan’s combination of commercial and technical experience could support its efforts to deepen relationships with renewable energy asset owners while pursuing additional project opportunities. The immediate focus identified in the source remains business development and the company’s ongoing turnkey wind projects in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
