REnergy Dynamics CEO and co-founder Varun Karad has been recognised among India’s 40 Under 40 by BW Disrupt, highlighting his role in developing large-scale bioenergy projects and strengthening India’s compressed biogas ecosystem.
Karad’s recognition came at the 10th edition of the BW Disrupt 40 Under 40 initiative, which recognises young entrepreneurs, innovators and business leaders. REnergy Dynamics announced the recognition on LinkedIn, describing it as a milestone for the company’s leadership in India’s bioenergy transition.
At REnergy Dynamics, Karad serves as CEO and co-founder and has been involved in the company’s efforts to build an integrated bioenergy platform. According to the company, its activities span large-scale compressed biogas (CBG) projects and the development of indigenous capabilities across the bioenergy value chain.
Building an integrated bioenergy platform
REnergy Dynamics, also known as RED, operates as a bioenergy project development and technology platform in India. Its business activities include developing company-owned bioenergy projects, providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services, aggregating feedstock for CBG projects, and manufacturing and supplying components for biogas plants.
The company has expanded its presence across states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat through a portfolio of bioenergy projects. Its model brings together project development, engineering, feedstock management and plant operations rather than focusing on a single part of the CBG value chain.
That integrated approach has also been reflected in RED’s recent project activity. In May 2026, the company announced that it had secured two waste-to-CBG projects from Refex Renewables in Tamil Nadu. The projects comprise a 12.5-tonnes-per-day plant in Coimbatore and a 10-TPD plant in Salem.
The facilities are designed to process the organic fraction of municipal solid waste using two-stage mesophilic anaerobic digestion with continuous stirred-tank reactor technology. REnergy Dynamics is responsible for EPC execution as well as one year of operations and maintenance for the plants. Together, the projects are expected to process about 550 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day.
Focus on large-scale CBG execution
REnergy Dynamics has also reported progress at its Nagothane CBG facility in Maharashtra. In February 2026, the company said the plant had crossed its nameplate capacity of more than 21 tonnes per day, making it, according to the company, the fastest CBG plant in India to reach that level and the second industrial-scale multi-feedstock CBG plant in the country to achieve full nameplate production.
The Nagothane project uses multiple feedstocks, including napier grass, press mud cake, cow dung, paddy straw, bagasse and cane trash. The facility also incorporates membrane-based gas upgrading technology, with biomethane purity of up to 99% when required, according to the company.
The project illustrates the company’s emphasis on multi-feedstock systems, which can provide greater flexibility in sourcing organic material and help plants maintain operations across changing seasonal feedstock availability.
Leadership recognition amid CBG expansion
Karad’s BW Disrupt 40 Under 40 recognition comes as India’s CBG sector continues to develop around municipal waste, agricultural residues and other organic feedstocks.
For REnergy Dynamics, the recognition places greater visibility on a business model that combines project development with technology, EPC execution, feedstock aggregation and plant operations. The company’s recent projects also indicate an expanding focus on both agricultural and municipal waste as inputs for commercial-scale bioenergy production.
