NTPC Green Energy Limited has commissioned an additional 9.45 MW of wind power capacity at its Vanki Wind Energy Project in Gujarat, taking the total installed capacity of the group to 10,920.53 MW.
The additional capacity became commercially operational on September 19, 2026, according to the company. The Vanki Wind Energy Project is located in Nakhatrana in Gujarat’s Kutch district. The project is owned by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited.
NTPC Green Energy expands operational renewable portfolio
Before the latest commissioning, the commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group stood at 10,911.08 MW.
The addition of 9.45 MW from the Vanki project increases the group’s total installed capacity by the same amount to 10,920.53 MW.
The latest commissioning adds to NTPC Green Energy’s operating renewable energy portfolio and further expands its presence in Gujarat’s wind energy sector.
Vanki project adds to Gujarat wind capacity
Located in Kutch, the Vanki project is part of the renewable energy development activity undertaken through NTPC Renewable Energy.
Kutch has emerged as an important renewable energy region in Gujarat, supported by its wind and solar resource potential. The commissioning of additional wind capacity at Vanki contributes to the expansion of the group’s renewable generation assets in the state.

The commissioning of another 9.45 MW at Vanki highlights the continued addition of relatively small capacity blocks to NTPC Green Energy’s operating renewable portfolio. While the individual addition is modest, successive commissioning milestones can materially increase a developer’s overall operational base and generation capacity.
