Greenzo Energy India Limited is showcasing a green hydrogen collaboration with German engineering company HAW at the Hydrogen Technology World Expo 2026 in Hamburg, bringing together Indian-manufactured electrolyser stacks and German process integration capabilities for the European market.
Under the arrangement, Greenzo Energy will supply electrolyser stacks manufactured in India, while HAW will support the balance of plant (BoP) and process-level integration in Germany. The companies aim to combine the two capabilities to develop green hydrogen solutions aligned with European project requirements.
The collaboration is being presented at the exhibition, at Hamburg Messe. It brings together technology providers and industry participants across hydrogen production, storage, distribution and applications.
Partnership combines electrolyser manufacturing and plant integration
Greenzo Energy’s role centres on supplying its indigenously manufactured electrolyser stacks from India. HAW will contribute the supporting systems and process integration needed to incorporate the stacks into a hydrogen production facility.
The balance of plant typically includes equipment such as gas-liquid separators, gas purification systems, water treatment, storage vessels, piping and associated process equipment. These components support the operation of the electrolyser and help prepare hydrogen for downstream handling and use.
HAW’s technical information identifies its role in engineering and manufacturing supporting equipment around electrolyser stacks, while Greenzo Energy supplies alkaline electrolysis technology.
Combining the electrolyser with locally integrated plant systems could give the partners a route to pursue projects in Europe through a division of responsibilities spanning Indian manufacturing and German engineering.
European market focus puts integration in the spotlight
The companies are positioning the collaboration around the requirements of the European green hydrogen market. Alongside electrolyser performance, hydrogen projects require suitable process equipment, safety systems, engineering documentation and compliance with applicable technical standards.
The partnership is intended to bring these elements together by pairing Greenzo Energy’s stack supply with HAW’s process-level capabilities. However, the announcement does not specify a project location, production capacity, investment value, delivery schedule or confirmed customer for the showcased project.
The companies have also not disclosed a contract value or a commercial deployment timeline. The announcement therefore signals a collaborative market approach rather than confirmation that a particular hydrogen facility has been commissioned or entered commercial operation.
Green hydrogen deployment depends on the complete system
Electrolysers use electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. When powered by renewable electricity, the process can produce green hydrogen, which may be used in industrial applications, refining, ammonia production and other sectors seeking to reduce emissions.
The electrolyser stack is only one part of a functioning production facility. Supporting equipment and process integration affect how the plant operates, handles gases, manages water and prepares hydrogen for storage or delivery.
For projects targeting Europe, the ability to coordinate equipment supply and engineering requirements will be important. The commercial value of the Greenzo–HAW collaboration will ultimately depend on project execution, equipment performance, cost competitiveness and the ability to meet the technical and regulatory requirements of individual customers.
Bioenergy Business Analysis
The Greenzo Energy–HAW collaboration reflects a cross-border approach to green hydrogen development in which electrolyser manufacturing and plant integration are supplied by partners in different markets. For Greenzo Energy, the arrangement offers a potential route to introduce Indian-manufactured technology to European project developers. For HAW, it creates an opportunity to provide the supporting engineering and process equipment around an electrolyser supplied by a technology partner.
The balance of plant is an important part of the overall project because a stack alone does not constitute a complete hydrogen production facility. Equipment selection, integration, safety, reliability and installation costs all influence the performance and economics of a project.
The next indicators to watch are whether the collaboration leads to named customer projects, disclosed production capacities, confirmed orders or installations. Until those details emerge, the partnership is best viewed as a step towards market development, rather than evidence of commercial-scale deployment or independently verified performance.
