Vikram Solar secures 289.87 MWp TOPCon module order for NLC India’s Rajasthan project

Vikram Solar has won an order to supply 289.87 MWp of N-type TOPCon modules for NLC India’s 810 MW solar project at Pugal in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

Vikram Solar has secured an order to supply 289.87 megawatt-peak (MWp) of N-type TOPCon solar photovoltaic modules for an 810 MW solar power project being developed by NLC India Limited at the RUVN Solar Park in Pugal, Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The order has been placed on behalf of NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited. The module supply will support a utility-scale solar project in western Rajasthan, a region with high solar irradiation that has become an important location for large solar installations.

The contract adds to Vikram Solar’s utility-scale module business as India continues to expand renewable electricity generation and domestic solar manufacturing.

The order covers N-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) photovoltaic modules, a solar cell technology designed to improve conversion efficiency and energy output. Module performance in Rajasthan will depend on operating temperatures, site conditions, system design and other project-specific factors.

The high temperatures and intense solar irradiation common in western Rajasthan make module performance under heat an important consideration for developers. Vikram Solar says its TOPCon modules are designed to deliver consistent performance under demanding environmental conditions.

For an 810 MW project, the module supply is one component of a broader development process that also involves construction, electrical infrastructure, grid connectivity and commissioning.

Sameer Nagpal, chief executive officer of Vikram Solar, said the order reflects confidence in the company’s N-type TOPCon technology and its ability to supply modules for utility-scale installations.

“As India builds clean energy capacity at gigawatt scale, the industry is placing greater value on technology and supply partners it can rely on over the long term,” Nagpal said. He added that the company would continue to strengthen its integrated manufacturing capabilities, with a focus on performance reliability and consistent supply.

The order comes as India expands utility-scale solar capacity while promoting domestic production of photovoltaic modules. For developers, securing module supplies that meet project specifications and delivery schedules is an important part of managing construction and commissioning timelines.

The 289.87 MWp supply represents a portion of the planned 810 MW project capacity. The contract’s value and detailed delivery schedule were not specified in the supplied announcement.

Bioenergy Business Analysis

The contract links a domestic module manufacturer with a major solar project being developed through NLC India’s renewable energy subsidiary. It also highlights the role of N-type TOPCon technology in the supply chain for large-scale solar installations.

The module order should not be confused with the project’s total generation capacity: Vikram Solar is supplying 289.87 MWp of modules for an 810 MW project. The commercial impact for the manufacturer will depend on execution, delivery schedules and the contract’s contribution to its order book.

For the project, module performance in Rajasthan’s hot, high-irradiance conditions will be an important factor in energy generation. Actual output, however, will depend on the final system design, installation quality, operating conditions and grid availability.
