Advait Energy Transitions Limited has appointed Vimal Yadav as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), bringing nearly 20 years of experience in energy infrastructure, business transformation and large-scale project execution to the company. His appointment comes as Advait looks to strengthen its operational capabilities and expand its presence across power infrastructure and clean energy markets.
Prior to joining Advait, Yadav spent 10 years at Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), where he gained experience across renewable energy, power infrastructure and emerging energy technologies.
Vimal Yadav brings experience from EESL
During his decade at EESL, Yadav worked across several segments of the energy sector, including solar projects, smart metering, battery energy storage systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
EESL is a joint venture involving NTPC Limited, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, REC Limited and Power Finance Corporation, under the Ministry of Power. The organisation has been involved in implementing energy efficiency and clean energy initiatives across India.
Yadav has also contributed to large-scale energy programmes involving investments worth thousands of crores. His professional experience includes working alongside multilateral development institutions such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank and Germany’s KfW.
He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
He holds an M.Tech in Energy Systems and Engineering, along with an Executive MBA. His academic background combines technical expertise in energy systems with management education.
Advait Energy Transitions’ expansion across power and clean energy
At Advait Energy Transitions, Yadav will focus on business growth, operational development and the company’s expansion across power infrastructure and clean energy.
The company operates in the power transmission and distribution sector and has been developing capabilities in renewable energy and associated infrastructure. Its business activities include power transmission and distribution solutions, renewable energy projects, and related engineering and infrastructure services.
The appointment adds an experienced energy-sector executive to Advait’s leadership team as the company pursues opportunities across conventional power infrastructure and emerging clean energy markets.
Bioenergy Business Analysis
Yadav’s appointment brings experience in large-scale energy infrastructure programmes to Advait at a time when India’s power sector is undergoing expansion across transmission networks, renewable energy integration, smart metering and energy storage.
His background at EESL is particularly relevant to the growing intersection between power infrastructure and clean energy deployment. Experience with solar projects, battery storage and EV charging can be useful as companies develop integrated solutions to support the changing requirements of the electricity system.
For Advait, the key measure of this leadership transition will be how effectively the company translates its expansion plans into project execution, operational capacity and business growth. The appointment announcement does not disclose specific targets, investment commitments or new projects under Yadav’s leadership.
