ENOC Group, a prominent global energy player, launched its innovative ENOC Link solar-powered biodiesel truck at the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2024. The event, held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, runs until October 3, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
According to the Press Release, the unveiling of the ENOC Link truck aligns with the recently adopted National Biofuels Policy, showcasing ENOC’s dedication to supporting the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the UAE’s broader energy transformation objectives.
The ENOC Link trucks feature a 5,000-litre aluminum tank divided into two compartments, allowing for the transport and distribution of two different biodiesel grades, enhancing both efficiency and convenience for consumers.
His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC Group, stated, “At ENOC Group, we are committed to providing pioneering energy solutions for a sustainable future. Introducing the ENOC Link solar-powered biodiesel truck at WETEX underscores our dedication to environmental sustainability and efficient fuel distribution. By promoting cleaner fuel options that lower emissions and boost operational efficiency, we are making a significant contribution to strengthening the national economy and improving quality of life, in line with the National Biofuels Policy.”
The solar-powered biodiesel truck is equipped with a robust solar system that includes two 500-550W solar panels, offering a full day of operation on a single charge. It features two 240V DC batteries for primary power, a 24V DC backup battery, and a dedicated 24V DC battery for the air conditioning system, the press release further added.
Additionally, the trucks are fitted with ATEX-certified on-grid photovoltaic solar panels, generating 1.3 megawatt-hours of solar energy annually, which translates to a reduction of approximately 6.6 tonnes of carbon emissions.
ENOC Group is actively engaged in advancing the UAE’s sustainability agenda and fostering a greener future through various initiatives, including biodiesel, in line with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy. Since 2020, ENOC has sold 10 million litres of biodiesel in various grades (B100, B20, B5), reflecting its commitment to alternative fuels.
