E3 Capital has announced a strategic investment in Wattnow, a Tunisian climate-tech startup specializing in AI-powered energy management systems. Founded in 2018 by Issam Smaali, Wattnow uses real-time data analytics and Internet of Things (IoT) technology to help businesses optimize energy consumption, reduce costs, and lower carbon footprints.
The funding round, which was led by Lateral Frontiers, also saw participation from prominent investors including 216 Capital, Outlierz Ventures, Satgana, Octerra Capital, and a group of strategic angel investors, such as Karim Beguir and Guillaume Amblard. This new investment will enable Wattnow to expand its reach into new markets beyond Tunisia, further scaling its impact in the global energy management sector.
Issam Smaali, CEO and Co-founder of Wattnow, expressed excitement over the partnership with E3 Capital. “We are thrilled to welcome E3 Capital as a strategic partner in our mission to revolutionize energy management. Their support not only validates our efforts but will also accelerate our plans to expand into new markets and continue making a meaningful impact in the fight against climate change,” he said.
Wattnow’s energy management system (EMS) provides businesses with real-time insights into their energy usage, allowing them to identify inefficiencies and optimize consumption. The platform’s predictive capabilities also offer actionable recommendations, enabling businesses to improve operational efficiency while reducing their environmental impact.
Utari Wanjohi, Investment Manager at E3 Capital, highlighted Wattnow’s potential to address growing concerns around energy consumption and climate change. “Wattnow’s business model aligns with our investment thesis, especially given the increasing need for efficient energy management in light of rising energy prices and the global push to reduce carbon emissions,” Wanjohi said. “Their innovative solution offers companies across various industries the tools to monitor and optimize energy usage, which is critical for driving both economic and environmental sustainability.”
Wattnow’s platform has already gained traction across a range of sectors by helping companies identify energy waste and prevent anomalies in their electrical setups. With this new funding, the company aims to scale its impact and expand its solutions to a broader customer base globally.
