Utkarsh Gupta, founder and chief executive officer of Gruner Renewable Energy, has been recognised among the 40 Under Forty honourees at the 7th Media Conclave, according to an announcement shared by the company on LinkedIn.
The recognition acknowledges Gupta’s entrepreneurial leadership and his work in developing a business focused on renewable energy infrastructure, with particular emphasis on converting agricultural residues and organic waste into compressed biogas (CBG), also known as bio-CNG.
The announcement described the recognition as a reflection of innovation, entrepreneurial vision and a commitment to advancing India’s clean energy ecosystem. It did not disclose the selection criteria, the full list of honourees or further details about the award process.
Gupta’s recognition comes as India seeks to expand domestic renewable fuel production, improve agricultural waste management and diversify its energy supply. Compressed biogas projects offer a potential route to address these priorities by processing organic materials into a fuel that can be used in applications traditionally served by natural gas.
