AM Green and DP World join forces to establish India as global hub for green molecules

AM Green, a frontrunner in the production of green hydrogen and ammonia, has teamed up with DP World, a global leader in logistics, to establish a sustainable supply chain for green fuels and chemicals. This partnership will play a crucial role in advancing global decarbonization efforts by streamlining exports to key markets.

As part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in December, the two companies will collaborate on developing logistics and storage infrastructure to support the global export of 1 million tonnes per year (MTPA) of green ammonia and 1 MTPA of green methanol. The plan includes:

  • Building port infrastructure at AM Green’s Net-Zero Industrial Clusters to facilitate global exports,
  • Establishing bunkering infrastructure in Dubai, India, and Southeast Asia for the green ammonia and methanol produced by AM Green,
  • Creating strategic terminal infrastructure across the European Union, Far East, and UAE to ensure a zero-carbon supply chain for their transition to a low-carbon economy.

AM Green is developing several projects across India that utilize renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), green ammonia, green hydrogen, chemicals, and biofuels. With an ambitious goal of reaching 5 MTPA in production capacity by 2030, the company aims to make a significant contribution to India’s net-zero targets and global decarbonization efforts. It has already approved a final investment decision for a 1 MTPA Green Ammonia plant in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, located on India’s eastern coast.

Mahesh Kolli, Founder of Greenko Group and AM Green, commented: “We are fully committed to helping India achieve its goal of becoming a green energy exporter, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with DP World in creating world-class infrastructure for the global transport of green molecules. This strategic alliance will enable us to efficiently export green ammonia, green methanol, and other sustainable fuels, strengthening the global green supply chain and supporting the shift toward a low-carbon economy.”

Yuvraj Narayan, Group Deputy CEO and CFO of DP World, remarked: “DP World’s mission is to be at the forefront of global trade, ensuring our efforts have a lasting positive impact on economies and societies. By partnering with AM Green, we can leverage our expertise in logistics and infrastructure to support the global distribution of clean fuels and chemicals. Together, we aim to be a key player in advancing the low-carbon economy and driving global sustainability goals.”
