Praj Industries has appointed Govind Gupta as Senior Project Manager, with the new role taking effect from 16 September 2026, according to an announcement by Gupta on LinkedIn.
Gupta, who holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) credential, brings experience spanning project management, procurement management and site-related activities to his new position. His publicly available professional profile lists Holtec International among his recent experience and indicates an earlier association with Thermax, where his work included exposure to procurement and commissioning activities.
His professional profile also lists certifications and training in areas including Primavera P6 project portfolio management, Lean methodology, Microsoft Project and IPMA project management. Gupta’s profile describes his experience as diversified across project management, procurement management and site functions.
In a LinkedIn post announcing his move, Gupta said he was looking forward to new challenges, opportunities and growth at Praj Industries. He did not disclose the specific projects, business unit or geographic responsibilities associated with his new position.
Praj Industries Expands Bioenergy and Sustainable Technology Portfolio
The appointment comes as Pune-based Praj Industries continues to develop technologies and engineering solutions across bioenergy, advanced biofuels and industrial biotechnology.
Praj’s advanced bioethanol portfolio includes its enfinity® and Cellunitiâ„¢ technologies, which can produce advanced ethanol, cellulosic sugars, lignin, stillage and biogenic COâ‚‚. The company says these platforms can also serve as upstream technologies for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and bio-based renewable chemicals and materials.
The company has also been developing its SAF capabilities. In January 2026, Praj announced the successful demonstration of an integrated Ethanol-to-Jet pathway using Axens’ Jetanolâ„¢ technology at its Sustainable Aviation Fuel demonstration plant at Praj Matrix, its R&D centre. The company said the demonstration followed earlier work with bio-isobutanol and expanded its technology offering to both ethanol- and isobutanol-based Alcohol-to-Jet pathways.
Praj’s recent corporate activity has also extended into bio-based chemicals. On 16 September 2026, the company announced a development and commercialisation agreement with Gevo for bio-isobutanol technology in India.
Against this backdrop, Gupta’s project-management experience adds to the company’s personnel base as Praj works across technology development, engineering and project execution. However, there is currently no public information linking his appointment to a specific Praj project or technology programme.
Bioenergy Business Analysis
Gupta’s appointment brings a project-management profile with experience covering procurement, site activities and commissioning into Praj Industries, a company whose business spans bioenergy, advanced biofuels and emerging bio-based technologies.
