Gyanesh Chaudhary, Vikram Solar Chairman and MD, elected Indian Chamber of Commerce Vice President

Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikram Solar, has been elected Vice President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for the 2026–27 term, adding a renewable-energy industry leader to the chamber’s new office-bearer team.

Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikram Solar, has been elected Vice President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for the 2026–27 term, adding a renewable-energy industry leader to the chamber’s new office-bearer team.

Chaudhary announced the appointment on LinkedIn, saying he was honoured to take on the role and looked forward to contributing to the chamber’s work on industry collaboration and issues shaping India’s next phase of economic growth.

In his announcement, Chaudhary said he looked forward to contributing to ICC’s legacy and strengthening collaboration across industry while supporting priorities relevant to India’s next stage of growth.

The appointment comes as the ICC begins a new leadership cycle for 2026–27. The chamber has identified Parthiv Neotia as President, Keshav Bhajanka as Senior Vice President and Chaudhary as Vice President.

Gyanesh Chaudhary brings renewable-energy industry experience to ICC

Chaudhary leads Vikram Solar, an Indian solar PV module manufacturer and integrated solar-energy solutions provider. The company identifies him as its Chairman and Managing Director.

Vikram Solar says Chaudhary incorporated the company in 2005. Its current operations include solar PV module manufacturing as well as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance services. The company reports an annual module manufacturing capacity of 4.5 GW on its leadership profile, while its broader corporate materials cite 10 GW of modules shipped and an EPC aggregate capacity of 1.41 GW.

His industry involvement also extends beyond Vikram Solar. According to the company’s leadership profile, Chaudhary is Co-Chair of the ICC National Expert Committee on Energy and an executive member of the chamber. He has also held roles within industry bodies including the Confederation of Indian Industry.

His appointment therefore places his renewable-energy sector experience within a wider industry-policy platform covering multiple sectors of the Indian economy.

ICC enters new 2026–27 leadership term

The ICC, headquartered in Kolkata, was established in 1925 and describes itself as a platform connecting businesses, policymakers and other stakeholders. Its areas of work include policy advocacy, business information, trade, arbitration, agriculture and MSME-related initiatives.

The chamber’s newly announced leadership team comes as it marks more than a century of activity. Its 2026 programme has included discussions spanning investment, infrastructure, sustainability, manufacturing and energy.

The ICC Global Business Summit held in New Delhi in September 2026, for example, brought together business and government stakeholders around trade, investment and sustainability, with energy listed among the focus sectors.

Bioenergy Business Analysis

Gyanesh Chaudhary’s elevation to ICC Vice President brings a renewable-energy manufacturing perspective into the chamber’s senior leadership at a time when India’s energy transition is increasingly linked with industrial policy, domestic manufacturing and capital investment.

The significance for the broader clean-energy sector will depend less on the appointment itself than on the priorities the new ICC leadership chooses to advance during 2026–27. Areas such as renewable-energy manufacturing, supply chains, investment conditions, technology adoption and industry-policy coordination could provide natural areas of engagement, but these should be treated as potential areas of relevance rather than announced priorities.

Chaudhary’s existing role in ICC’s energy committee means the appointment also builds on an established association with the chamber rather than representing an entirely new institutional relationship.
