Gaurav Balani has joined Hexa Climate as Senior Manager, marking his move into the renewable energy and climate solutions platform after nearly eight years of experience advising government bodies and industry stakeholders on India’s energy transition.
Balani announced the move on LinkedIn, saying his next chapter would focus on translating his experience in the energy transition into more tangible, on-the-ground impact.

Balani brings experience spanning renewable energy, energy transition, policy and market advisory. His publicly available professional profile shows previous roles with CRISIL, PwC India and Idam Infrastructure Advisory, where he worked across areas connected with India’s evolving energy and renewable power markets.
At CRISIL, Balani has been associated with research and analysis of India’s renewable energy market. Focus on India’s Renewable Energy Transition
Balani’s work has covered several areas of India’s clean-energy transition, including renewable power markets, solar, energy storage, policy and corporate renewable procurement.
His public professional activity has also included work and commentary around developments in India’s renewable electricity sector, including battery energy storage systems and state-level renewable energy policy.
The move to Hexa Climate brings this advisory and market experience into a company whose activities span renewable energy development and broader decarbonisation solutions.
Hexa Climate’s Renewable Energy and Decarbonisation Platform
Hexa Climate is an India-focused climate solutions independent power producer (IPP) platform working across renewable energy and decarbonisation. Its activities include open-access solar and wind power, battery storage, carbon offsets, I-RECs and energy management solutions. The company is headquartered in Gurugram and also operates within the wider Hexa platform across several Asia-Pacific markets.
The company is backed by I Squared Capital and has been expanding its renewable energy portfolio in India. In 2025, Hexa Climate acquired Fortum’s India renewable energy business, including a 206 MW commercial and industrial renewable portfolio and a 600 MW pipeline of ready-to-build projects. The company subsequently announced plans to invest approximately $500 million to expand its renewable energy, water and carbon platforms across India and other emerging markets.
Balani’s appointment therefore comes as Hexa Climate continues to build its renewable energy and decarbonisation platform in India. His experience in energy-transition advisory, renewable markets and policy-related work adds to the company’s broader team working across project development, commercial activities, asset management and sustainability solutions.
