Mayur Gohil has joined Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Sugar Business, marking a new phase in a career spanning more than two decades across manufacturing, operations, supply chain, logistics, procurement and agri-business.
Gohil announced the move through a LinkedIn post, saying he was happy to share that he was starting a new position as Chief Operating Officer, Sugar Business at Triveni Engineering & Industries. The announcement places him in a senior operating role within one of India’s major integrated sugar and ethanol businesses.
From Industrial Engineering to Agri-Business Leadership
Gohil brings experience from several parts of the industrial and agricultural value chain. Before joining Triveni Engineering, he spent an extended period with ITC Limited, where his most recent assignment was as Business Head of ITCMAARS within the company’s Agri Business Division.
At ITCMAARS, Gohil was involved in building and scaling an integrated agritech platform that combined digital capabilities with on-ground agricultural networks. His public professional activity around the platform has focused on using technology, including AI, to improve coordination across agricultural value chains and support farmer and rural-community ecosystems.
He also represented ITCMAARS at industry forums focused on rural markets and digital agriculture. In 2026, he was listed as a speaker at Digital Dot Rural, where his role was identified as Business Head – ITCMAARS, ITC Agri Business Division.
Before moving into the agri-business leadership role, Gohil held senior positions covering operations and supply chain at ITC. His experience included responsibility for manufacturing operations, new projects, supply-chain planning and logistics, as well as leadership of logistics activities for ITC’s FMCG businesses.
His earlier career included a role as Factory Manager at ATC Limited, an associate company of ITC, where his responsibilities included manufacturing operations, cost management, productivity, quality and employee-related functions. He began his professional career as a Graduate Engineering Trainee at National Organic Chemical Industries Limited (NOCIL) before moving to Reliance Industries, where he worked as an Executive Engineer at the Jamnagar Refinery.
New Role Comes as Triveni Expands Sugar and Ethanol Operations
Gohil’s appointment comes into a business environment where sugar, ethanol and integrated processing remain central to Triveni Engineering’s operations.
Triveni Engineering & Industries describes itself as a diversified industrial company with core businesses spanning sugar, alcohol, power transmission and water. The company operates sugar mills across Uttar Pradesh and has an integrated portfolio that links sugar manufacturing with distillery and cogeneration operations.
The company’s distillery network includes facilities in Uttar Pradesh producing ethanol, Extra Neutral Alcohol, rectified spirit and denatured spirit. Triveni has also expanded its distillery capacity through a multi-feed facility at Rani Nangal, while using both sugarcane-derived feedstocks and grain in its alcohol operations.
Triveni’s sugar operations are closely connected to its ethanol and power businesses, allowing the company to extract value from different components of the sugarcane value chain. Its sugar units also support cogeneration, with the company reporting 104.5 MW of grid-connected cogeneration capacity across six plants in its corporate material.
The company’s alcohol business has become an increasingly important part of this integrated model. In its FY2025 disclosures, Triveni reported that ethanol accounted for 92% of alcohol sales, while the business had also expanded its use of grain-based feedstocks alongside sugarcane-derived inputs.
Gohil’s background across manufacturing, supply chains, agricultural ecosystems and large-scale operations therefore brings experience from both industrial and agri-business environments to his new position. The company has not publicly detailed his specific mandate or immediate priorities as COO, Sugar Business.
Bioenergy Business Analysis
Gohil’s move from leading an agritech platform at ITC to a senior operating position in Triveni’s sugar business brings together two parts of the agricultural value chain: farmer-facing agri-business and industrial processing. His previous experience across operations, manufacturing, supply chains and agricultural ecosystems provides relevant professional context for a business where sugarcane procurement, processing, ethanol production and cogeneration are interconnected.
For the bioenergy sector, the appointment is particularly relevant because Triveni’s sugar operations are integrated with ethanol and cogeneration. The company has been expanding its alcohol-production capabilities while managing a mix of sugarcane-based and grain feedstocks. Gohil’s specific plans for ethanol, feedstock strategy or other bioenergy activities have not yet been disclosed, so his appointment should not be interpreted as announcing a new project or investment in those areas.
